Middle Schools and Popular Sectors: Effectiveness, Law, Moral and Culture
Abstract


Here a series of reflections made from an exploratory investigation made in two Buenos Aires’s middle schools will be presented. The intention of said investigation is to find what enables schools situated in popular sectors produce students with good learning results. Case analysis based in a conceptual reference which takes pause from Cultural Analysis is proposed; this allows a contextual and complementary look to what is being proposed by the School Effectiveness movement. Said reflections refer to the tools used (new or otherwise) by the studied schools. Every angle is studied; students, teachers, management staff and their relationships with knowledge and culture and its relation to success or failure.
