The paper emphasizes the role and justifies the social institution "school" and the classroom, in the development of creativity of each and every one of the students. It shares information found in the literature using the methodologies of "critical analysis" (systematic review) and focal interviews (focus group) with the participation of groups of teachers from different types of educational institutions in several Latin American and Caribbean countries. It also shares the proposal we have for the education of creativity in the classroom using the possibilities offered by the content of teaching and learning from the main postulates of the theory of sociocultural constructivism using the methodology of cooperative learning. The correspondence between theory and methodology is a sine qua non for achieving classroom practice in the development of the creative potential of students but not enough, it also requires a teaching method that consistently make possible what point theory and methodology. Several investigations have demonstrated the effectiveness of the teaching method for educating ELI creativity from the use of cooperative learning methodology and a theoretical base of socio-cultural constructivism.
