The Curriculum of Basic Education in Mexico: A Flexible Educational Project for Attention to Diversity and Strengthening of Democratic Society

Abstract

The present work casts a glance around the principles of inclusive education as a prerequisite for understanding the curricular design and as a necessary condition to ensure relevant education, quality and equality of opportunities for the diversity of students attending Basic Education in Mexico. Finally, we share the experience of the Directorate of Special Education in Mexico City of the Secretariat of Public Education of Mexico (Ministry of Education) to evidence institutional efforts related to learning of students through proposals, which are inspired in research and experiences in the field to access competencies expressed in the curricular design.
