The Graduate Programs in Business Administration and Accounting in Brazil: Profile and the Teaching Methodology of their Teachers

 
Abstract
 

This study sought to identify and evaluate the profile of teachers and the teaching methodology used in the master's programs in accounting and administration, registered on the page of ANPAD (National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Administration). The research presented a descriptive approach qualitative and quantitative for data collection, featured a questionnaire designed in platform "googledocs", composed of 17 closed questions to 1196 teachers and graduate programms. In the period from June 30 to July 7, 2011, electronic mailings were sent to teachers, through emails. It was established within 10 (ten) days to reply to the questionnaires and, in the end, it was found the amount of 93 respondents. This is a limitation of the research that earned a percentage of 7.8% of respondents. After the analysis of the responses, it was possible to evaluate the profile to teachers respondents of the programms as regards aspects such as: age, sex, titration, Master programms that act as teachers, participation in conferences, seminars and scholarly events, conducting undergraduate research projects and research, and finally, the field of languages english, spanish, italian, french and german. The study evaluated the teaching methodology used by teachers and the characteristics of the disciplines taught.
