Impacts of External Evaluation of Educational Management Policies
Abstract
Analyze the trajectory of the external evaluations and their possible impacts on the management of educational policies is the aim of this article. Introduces weaving notes on the emergency context of the external evaluation and school management. Explores the relationship between the initiatives of federal, state and local implementation of systems with external evaluation of potential impacts on school management. In the latter case, relies on national survey "Good results in IDEB: An exploratory study of explanatory factors", which aimed to analyze factors of educational policy that would explain the good results Ideb twenty counties. We conclude, as a result of the study, the external evaluation is here to stay and there is a growing trend of deploying evaluation policies in the country with consequences that impact increasingly on the management and daily life of schools. Highlights some points that merit caution, as noted if students are not being overly subjected to external evidence; devotion to data collection and application of evidence and the existence of promotion by teachers, the mutual comparison of results of external evaluations with internal assessments . We emphasize that it is not ignoring the external evaluations and the results provided by them, but to strengthen its role of producing analytical elements of the educational reality and highlight its potential as a tool for school management to build a democratic and public education quality for all students.
