Education for Democratic Citizenship in Angola: The Role of Education for Citizenship en Welfare. A Study in the Community of Luanda Province
Abstract

We intend to characterize the sociodemographic profile of the resposibles for education or parents and the educational community of Luanda – Angola; understanding the importance given to Education for Citizenship and the levels of subjective well-being. We studied a sample of 1156 elements. As instruments of data collection we used a sociodemografphic questionnaire and the scale of Subjective Well-Being (EBE) of Albuquerque &. Tróccoli (2004). The results reveal that the parents and / or guardians considered the importance of education for citizenship, considering the family context, the church and school as sites potentially promoters of personal development and school children. The analysis of overall results Wellness, positive values were found in the two subscales; emphasizing that 4 questions (the questionnaire Community) were positively correlated with the index of Wellness - Feelings and Emotions and the index of Opinion about life itself.
