School Conflicts Management in Childhood. Analysis of its Causes and Intervention Measures in the Region of Madeira (Portugal)
Abstract

This paper showes a study of students in the fourth grade, first the Portuguese basic education, focused on the analysis of the causes and children conflict management in the classroom, based on the comparison between public education and private of County Funchal (Madeira). For this, we developed a descriptive methodology of research method, by applying a questionnaire to a sample of three hundred and twenty students. The results showed that there is a higher incidence of conflicts in public education. As generators reasons for these conflicts are mentioned facts as children do not like school, peer or teacher to better handle some students because of others. Most conflicts are resolved through the intervention of teachers and apology between parties.
