Institutional Factors Associated to the Results of
the National Exam of Students’ Performance (ENADE):
Study of the Graduate Courses Of the Federal University Of Ceará (UFC)
 
Abstract
 

The research hereby detailed aimed at identifying institutional factors which are associated with the students’ performance in the National Exam of Students’ achievement (ENADE). For so it was accomplished a field of study of the ex-post-facto type counting with 1,337 students registered in 2007 in the graduate courses of the Federal University of Ceará UFC. It was found out that there are six factors associated to the students' performance in the graduate courses from UFC.

Such students got grade 4 and 5 in the ENADE: a) Suitability of physical installations which were considered spacious, ventilated and well lit with appropriate furniture to the university formation wished for (Physical Dimension); b) adjustment of most of the pedagogical spaces (classrooms and laboratories) to the number of students/users (Physical Dimension); c) adjustment of the informatics equipments as well as laboratories to the formation goals intended by the course (Organizational Dimension); d)Professors’ availability for extra-class tutoring (Pedagogical management Dimension) e) students’ participation in research and extension projects coordinated by the course professors according to what was reported by the egresses, (Scientific and Cultural Dimension); f) meaningful proportion of professors who are totally pleased with their respective courses which supposes high degree of motivation for the learning process (Motivational Dimension) Thus, the investigation offers relevant support to the area which studies the institutional factors associated to the graduate courses’ professors performance in the ENADE.
