Urban Segmentation and Education inn Latin-American. Contributions of Six Studies
on Educational Inclusion Policies is Six Big Cities of the Region
 
Abstract
 

The paper makes a contribution to the analysis of policies for the educational inclusion of “vulnerabilized” populations in the major cities of Latin America, based on results from research developed in six cities of five countries. The paper presents the main conclusions of the studies, with emphasis on the institutional architecture of the educational policies; on teachers´ issues; on pedagogical concerns such as the educational curriculum, teaching and learning; and on aspects of strategic change in educational policies. An original contribution is intended by incorporating the Latin American educational processes to worldwide debate on urban education.
