Abstract |

The “School Effect” is estimated that at the 6th grade of primary education and at the last year of secondary education in Argentina. The data is obtained from the National Census on the Finalization of the Secondary Level and from the National Operative to Evaluate the Quality on Education (Primary Census), both performed by the National Ministry of Culture and Education. The criteria-variables are the scores obtained at the standardized test on math and language. For the analysis of the information two bivaried multilevel models with 5 additional levels are used. Student’s demographic, social-economical and academic characteristics, as well as the correspondent measurements of the school’s ‘composition’, are used to adjust the models. Comparative conclusions are extracted by subject and educational level.
