The educational demands of the 21st century have permitted the introduction of the use of technological resources in the classrooms. It is common for present students to have learning experiences through the internet, therefore Open Educational Resources (OER’s) are an option teachers can utilize in the classroom in their daily work, since these resources enrich the understanding and assimilation of school’s subjects.
In this study, five OER’s were applied in educational practices; the resources were related to the teaching of values through artistic activities in elementary of five different with Mexican students between 6 and 12 years of age. The purpose was to explore: In which way OER’s can help teachers cover the class’s objectives; and in which way OER’s influence the students in the acquisition and application of knowledge.
The method used was multiple case studies; interviews were applied, questionnaires and observations. The methodological triangulation and the analysis of categorical aggregation and direct interpretation allowed the conclusion that the use of OER’s promotes the interest and participation in students of ages 6 to 12, bringing as a result the learning of values in a significant way through OER’s related to artistic expression.
