This article aims to discuss the quality of teaching and assessments on a large scale in Brazil and its challenges on the process and the educational success in guaranteeing the right to education. To do this, at first, we dealt with the issue of quality education in its relationship with the right to education. Second, we conducted a path of large-scale evaluation in Brazil, the process of implementation and consolidation, as well as the current configuration of evaluation in Brazilian educational policies, specifically, the t Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação (IDEB). We conclude that with increasing overlap of large-scale testing does not focus on the analysis of educational processes and school factors that can lead to policy improvement.
