Technology and Teaching in Higher Education. The Case of USINA as Author tool

.Abstract
 

Nowadays, didactic innovations in higher education are associated to authoring tools, i.e., original digital applications that allow for teaching practice improvements, taking into account the interrelation between field specificity, technological development, and methodological construction. The article looks into an environment recently created by the Center for Innovation of Technology and Pedagogy (Centro de Innovación en Tecnología y Pedagogía, CITEP) at the University of Buenos Aires. The digital tool, called USINA, was designed for teaching and learning through simulations with the purpose of enriching University students’ learning process by encouraging analysis, problem solving, theory-practice relations, and transfer to new situations and contexts.
