.Abstract

The undergraduate program coordinator is in charge of the educational administration and management of program demands. Coordinator must articulate specific policies to ensure the necessary conditions for implementation of academic activities, as well as being the intermediary between students and senior management of the higher education institution (HEI). In this way, the study on program coordination performance is very important to assess the academic quality of these programs. In this work, we conducted a study in 35 undergraduate programsat Federal University of Ceará (UFC), seeking to identify positive links between results of the preliminary program concept (CPC) MEC / INEP, undergraduate programs quality and program coordinator performance. Results indicated a disapproval in four of the eight evaluated aspects involving academic management of UFC undergraduate programs. Despite being a worrying statistic for the University, at the same time it becomes an opportunity for a review of academic management policies of undergraduate programs.
