Resumen
The paper gives a comprehensive review of the theories of justice and equity in education from different angles today. First, from an overview, by way of introduction, deals with equality policies in education. Second, we analyze the theories of distributive justice: justice as fairness to John Rawls and, in parallel, the perspective of the capability approach of Amartya Sen. Moreover, at present, along with the policies of redistributive justice, there has been strong recognition policies. From an internal perspective to their own schooling, a third block deals with justice in educational practices, focusing on the tension between equality of opportunity and merit. Equality of opportunity is a dream or a fiction, but as such need, so suction is equity, and secondly, the idea of justice is linked to the need for redistribution of resources, giving substantially more to those who have less. It makes a critical analysis of compensatory education programs developed in this regard. Finally, as an output current path, is advocated to ensure key competencies for all students, with some of the dilemmas it presents.
