The paper deals with gender and education from three perspectives, first from the statistics in such a way to respond from there to the question, Is there equity MERCOSUR countries in the discharge of primary and secondary education and the tuition Tertiary what areas of expertise and participation in economic activity for those with higher education? In a second section of progress in responding to the question "What is transmitting the curriculum from a gender perspective? And finally moving to respond to the question of culture and gender related curricula. It concludes that achieving the purpose of advancing a comprehensive education of children and young people requires gender mainstreaming in the educational process.
